Wool Candy is Open for Business!
Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 8:54AM
At long last, after months of preparing and stressing and joyfully staining everything I own with dye:
Wool Candy, the Shop is opening it's virtual doors!
A few things about the shop:
The opening selection is small, but will grow rapidly. At the moment, I have several colors of Merino Bamboo sock yarn, Colonial Wool sock yarn, and several skeins of fluffy soft handspun. I will be adding more yarn this week, in the BonBon and Handspun sections. I have a lovely chocolate brown bamboo sock, as well as some plum colored handspun sock yarn hanging to dry as I write this.
I'll be posting all of the shop updates here on the blog, so please check back, or, better yet, click the orange RSS button on the left to subscribe to my feed.
In the next few weeks, I will be starting both a fiber club and a sock yarn club. Details about both clubs, including how to sign-up, will be posted here on the blog, as well as in the shop. Members will receive either 4 oz of wool or special skein of sock yarn for each month you are in the club. And? Colorways for the sock yarn club and the fiber club will be completely unique to the clubs and and never offered in the shop otherwise.
In the next few weeks I will also be adding some non-fiber related items to the shop, including eco-friendly, handmade cotton project bags and cute little fabric covered measuring tapes. I'll keep you posted!
I'm so excited about this venture. Anyone who knows me even a little can attest to my (perhaps freakish, verging on unhealthy) love of all things wool. I never leave the house without knitting in my purse. I can do very few things for as long, but I could happily sit and spin or knit for eight hour stretches at a time.
I tell you this to help you understand how much it means to me to be able to make my living through wool. I feel so incredibly, unutterably lucky to be able to give this a go. I haven't been this happy or this excited in a long time, and I hope my excitement comes through even just a little for those browsing the shop.
Gushing over... :)
So, without further ado, please take a look around!
