Shop Update!

It's Shop Update time!
This post is a big ol' explosion of handpainted fiber and hand-dyed yarn that will be going up in my Etsy shop over the next few days. As always, if you see something you're interested and want to pounce before it's in the shop, email me (handy Contact link right up at the top of the page!) or convo me through Etsy and I'll reserve for you.
This is just a sampling of a few colors. I tried to put everything in this post, but the pics and descriptions were going on forever and ever. But here's a link to a collection of all of the yarns and fibers in this update.
Now sit back, relax, and enjoy the yarn PR0N. :)
I have a new 100% Superwash Merino base. It's a 3-ply, super cushy, soft and creamy. I call it "Custard." This stuff is the perfect baby yarn. Washable, and just like a hug around sensitive bodies. This is a fingering weight and will work wonderfully for socks, but since it doesn't have the addition of nylon to give it sturdiness, they might need to just be special occasion socks. I can see the perfect little February Baby Sweater out of this, though. Or a gorgeous scarf or shawl for a summer evening.
I have several colors to choose from. I shouldn't play favorites, but I'm going to:
Pamplemousse is so cute! Citrusy grapefruit tones -- the pink of a ruby red, the orange and yellow of fragrant grapefruit skin. I have 5 available. Take a look at the collection to see Candy Floss (4 available), Wagashi (5 avail), Brulee (5 avail) and Bluemonkey (3 avail) too.
Another brand new base is one I'm calling "Fondant." This is a 3-ply, superwash Merino sportweight yarn. Perfect for heavier socks, or for baby things or even grown-up sized sweaters. It's cushy soft and squishy, but has a nice, tight twist that should help the Merino last a bit longer. I knit a Feb Baby Sweater out of this, and I loved every minute of it! I have a few skeins with an unusual put-up: 395 yards, for $32. The normal put-up will be 100g skeins for $18 (about 225yards).
This is Lemon Chiffon:

I have 2 skeins of lemon chiffon, 3 skeins of Brulee and 3 skeins of Charcoal.
In Lollipop BFL Sock, 3-ply and 100% Superwash Blue Faced Leicester wool, I have three colors. The longer staple length of the Blue Faced Leicester means that the 100% blend in this yarn will be perfect for a silky, good-wearing sock. The yarn has a slight sheen to it, as well, so I could see it as an AMAZING shawl. This is Blueberry Buckle:

And how could I forget Marzipan Merino Sock? This is 75-25 blend of ultra-mega soft Merino wool and nylon. The nylon helps it wear, while not affecting the softness of the wool in the least. It's my favorite yarn base. Hands down, my favorite. I love knitting with it. It has gorgeous stitch definition, while knitting into a nice, sturdy, smooth and cohesive fabric in stockinette. It takes color like you wouldn't believe, somehow adding more depth and dimension to every layer that I give it.

Fresh Fig is Wool Candy's newest colorway. It's summer, and near fig season. I grew up eating figs off my grandmother's tree, and have always loved the not-very-sweet creaminess of the flesh, and the crunchiness of the seeds. This yarn echoes the colors inside a freshly split open black mission fig: orange-purple tones, with tiny hints of green and yellow and pink.
I have several yummy, fluffy handpainted tops too! I have some yummy-soft superwash merino, perfect for spinning sock yarn (yes, I have a nearly one-track mind when it comes to knitting. MOAR SOCKS PLZ!!!), I also have superfine merino which is to-die-for soft, and both superwash and non-superwash BFL.
My fave, I admit, is "Jelly Beans." 4 oz of brightly colored, happy candy superwash merino tastiness! Orange-y orange, berry pinks and bright, cherry reds. Exactly the color of jelly beans, I swear.

These are going to start going in the shop today -- Hope you see something you like!
Edited at 3pm 6/4 -- Hey folks -- just wanted to let you know that Pie! is sold out. Only had the one, and Jen snapped it up! Thanks, Jen! :)
