About the Yarn

All of the yarn and fiber offered at Wool Candy has been handpainted and/or handspun with love, care and obsessivness by me, Adrienne. I use professional grade synthetic acid dyes which are non-toxic, lightfast and washfast.

The dye process I use for my yarn involves layering many colors, one over anotherĀ  to achieve the perfect, luminous and dimensional shade. The relatively random nature of this layering means that the colors WILL NOT POOL.

Yarn dyelots are VERY small (I dye only two skeins at a time to ensure consistency of quality and color), and even within dyelots, each skein is unique. This ensures that each skein is its own very special product!

Our house is completely and utterly smoke-free, but two silly fat cats share the house with my husband and me. They aren’t allowed to roll around in the yarn or anything, but they do have free range around the house. The yarn and fiber are kept in sealed plastic bags in large tubs, but I just put this out there in case you find a stray white hair.

Ordering and Payment Info

At this time, I am only able to accept payment through Paypal. When you place your order and go through checkout, you will be taken to the Paypal website where your payment will be securely handled.

Sales tax of 9.25% will be added to all orders shipping to California. The tax will be added to your order total when you are taken to Paypal’s website to complete payment.

Privacy and Security

None of your information will ever be shared with anyone. Ever. And because your payment is securely handled by Paypal, I will never see your payment information.

Return Policy

I want you to be 100% happy with the yarn and fiber you purchase from me. If, for some reason, you are unhappy, send me an email within 7 days of your item’s receipt, and I would be happy to offer and exchange or refund, minus the cost of shipping.

I’m sorry, but yarn that has been wound into center pull balls, or has been knit with is not returnable. Fiber must be in it’s original condition, not split or spun at all.

Custom Dyeing and Spinning

All of the colorways offered here can be custom dyed in any of the base yarns I carry — if you like a colorway and only see it offered in BonBon Bamboo, but you’d rather have it in Marzipan Merino, send me an email and I would be happy to custom dye it for you. Additionally, if you would like more than one skein in a particular colorway, contact me and I will custom dye multiple skeins for you. Please allow up to two weeks for shipment of custom dye orders.

If you fall in love with a handpainted fiber, but aren’t a spinner yourself, I would (of course!) encourage you to learn to spin because it’s FANTASTICALLY fun and relaxing. In the meantime, if you are as impatient as me, I would be happy to spin the fiber for you. The price of the yarn would then be comparable to the price of other handspun yarns offered in the shop. I calculate the price of my handspun yarn in a formula based on the cost of fiber plus a cost per yard. Please allow up to two weeks from the time of your order for me to spin your yarn and send it off to you.

Fun Little Extras

Yarn Winding: I would be happy to wind your skeins into neat little center pull balls for you as a complementary service. If you would like me to do so, please make a note of this in the Order Comments section at the time of your order.

Wholesale

Thanks for your interest! I would welcome any wholesale inquiries. I do not have any wholesale accounts at the moment, but would love to see if we can work something out. However, please know that Wool Candy is just lil’ ol’ me in my lil’ ol’ garage studio. My production scale is small, which is important to maintaining my high standard of quality and creativity.
